26 April 2006: My head hurts
I think I have the flu, I haven't been felling well for about a week now but have been soldiering on. The last couple of days I have felt like my head is about to explode so I was grateful for the day off yesterday. Donna and the boys came over for a play before they left for the airport. Kimberly was very sad when they left and she just sat in the lounge room staring out the window. We told her that maybe we could go and visit the boys at their house some time soon, I think this made her feel a bit better.
In the afternoon we went to Chadstone to get some photo frames so that we can display the photos that we had taken on Sunday. Here are some sample proofs that I've recieved from Clair the photographer:

I really like the photos as I think they capture Kimberly and Katelyn's personalities really well.
Both Kimbelry and Katelyn were very good while we were at Chadstone, I had Katelyn in the sling and she was happy to observe the world from that perspective. We didn't bother with the pram so Kim just walked, we got three really big frames. David took them to the car while me and the girls "window" shopped around Myer. I told Kimberly that she was aloud to buy one thing, she chose a cute bunny photo holder but then we went to the clothes section and she found some Barbie clothing. I reminded her that she was only entitled to one thing and that if she wanted a Barbie top she couldn't get the photo holder. She decided she liked the photo holder more. I even went to the toy section and she saw a big Barbie doll (at the moment Kimberly likes everything to be Barbie) but she still chose to buy the photo holder.
While we were doing the grocery shopping Kimberly told us that she needed to go to the toilet and David took her to the toilets - no issues. She's very independant and can dress herself and go to the toilet at home on her own.
I've arranged to go to Kindle to do an activity on Friday, so I'm looking forward to that.
24 April 2006: Oliver's party
Donna and the boys are in Melbourne for a few days and we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate Oliver's birthdya at Gran's. Gran organised lots of party food and a Spiderman cake for Oliver. Kimbelry had a lovely time, David and I didn't have to look after her much at all as she was busy playing with her cousins and being fussed over especially by Charlie. Katelyn took a couple of minutes to get used to all the activity and noise level but she seemed to have enjoyed herself too.
On Sunday we had the photographer come over to take photos of the girls (also got a couple of the family too). We dressed Kimbelry in a white t-shirt and blue jeans as suggest and within minutes I heard "It doesn't matter". So I went to see what doesn't matter and Kim had paint all over her, cheeky thing. Luckily I had bought a spare set of t-shirt and jeans. She also accidently knocked a chair over which mad a big bang, David yelled at her and told her that she gave him a scare to which Kim replied "you scared me too". She is also clever and cute, David of course had to apologise for yelling at her, especially since she said sorry and really didn't mean to knock the chair over.
20 April 2006: Our Kimberly
Whilst I have been trying to ensure that Katelyn doesn't "get left out" because she is the second born, I am afraid to say that I have been "neglecting" Kim a little. So I better do an update on my precious "Big Girl", who is growing up too quickly. Yesterday morning when we said good-bye to Kimberly before leaving for work she said to us "Have a great day at work", now what two year old says that to their parents.
Kimberly is such a delight and we are always surprised by the things that she says, I was trying to find out about her day yesterday when I came home from work and was asking her lots of questions and she said to me "Mummy I can't talk while I'm eating" and then when she finished eating "Mummy I've finished eating, I can talk to you know. What do you want to talk about". Sometimes I forget that she is only two.
Last week she wet the bed in the middle of the night two nights in a row, I was really disappointed because she's been doing so well for so long. But on the weekend we spoke to Gran who told us that when children are sick it sometimes causes them to wet the bed at night. Which explained things, Kim had a bit of a cold and cough. I think she was more upset about wetting the bed than both David and I, and when I told her that she would have to start wearing a nappy at night she refused.
The Easter bunny was very good to Kimberly and she has enough chocolate to last her for the next 6 months. Rebecca got her a Barbie set with bowl, spoon, cup and chocolate egg. It was exactly the same as the one that I got for her so I wasn't sure what her reaction would be. To my delight Kimberly was thrilled to get another Barbie set, I actually think she was just as happy the second time around, and she said "Wow another Barbie set".
Easter Sunday Kimberly spent the morning at Por Por's house, and even had her afternoon nap there - I went to pick Kim up to take her home for a nap and some how got rangled into letting her stay. She got more eggs from Por Por and Gong Gong and Uncle John gave her a chocolate bunny. In the evening we went to Gran and Pops for dinner and of course both Kimberly and Katelyn got spoilt. Gran and Pop gave them a book each along with a cuddly bunny and more chololates. Katelyn got right into it and I think she ate more chololate at Gran's tha Kim. David gave both of them big white chocolate eggs which were so thick that I had to stand on it to break it, I got a dark chocolate one.
On Monday Kimberly met with Charles from Kindle at the rocket park for a play, I packed them some cupcakes and two Easter eggs. David said that she enjoyed bossing Charles around and hooning around the park. After their sleep we went to Emily's birthday party, Kimberly had a terrific time and wasn't phased at playing older children. We did an Easter egg hunt and Kimberly got more chocolate.
19 April 2006: Bye Bye
Katelyn has been able to wave for about a week now, but yesterday Por Por came over to bring us some food that she had made for us and when she left Katie said bye bye and waved her arm. We were all thrilled especially since it was at the end of the day and well past Katie's usual bed time so we expected her to be tired.
Rebecca called this morning to ask where Katie's eye drops were and to ask whether they could go down to Port Melbourne to see the boats so I'm looking forward to going home to see how they went. Will try to post updated tomorrow.
